Certified Copy of Sale Deed
A certified copy of a registered sale deed from the Sub-Registrar office where it was registered.
What you get
A certified copy is a copy of a registered document, issued and certified as true by the Sub-Registrar office that keeps the record.
People need it when the original deed is lost or damaged, for a court case, for a title check or to see the details of an old sale.
Share the document number, the year and the Sub-Registrar office. Our team applies for the copy and shares it with you. Some offices issue a digitally signed copy and others a paper copy. If yours is on paper, we tell you how it will be handed over or sent to you.

Questions
Can I get a copy of a deed that is not in my name?
In general, yes. Under the Registration Act, certified copies of registered sale deeds are given to anyone who applies.
What if I do not know the document number?
An Encumbrance Certificate for the property lists the document numbers. You can order one from us first.
Is a certified copy the same as the original?
No. It is an official copy of the office record. Some uses, such as a bank loan against the property, may still need the original deed.
